Membership

Our members are continually looking to learn and improve the art of bonsai.  By pursuing professional and global knowledge, they place the South African bonsai fraternity ahead in the global arena.  Through leading with honesty and transparency, they drive confidence in the art that benefit all in the Association and the community in which they work.  Anyone, or group of people interested in Bonsai are welcome to join the South African Bonsai Association. 

Benefits for SABA members:
 

1.  Exhibit trees at national and international conventions,
 

2.  Submit entries for all SABA Bonsai Competitions,
 

3.  Entry to the New Talent Competition, through club membership,
 

4.  Discounts at SABA national and international conventions.

Membership Categories

Club Membership

In order to qualify as a FULL MEMBER, a Club must meet within the Republic of South Africa,  must have a minimum of 6 members, and its core activities must be bonsai and bonsai related activities.

R60  per member of the registered Club with SABA.

Individual Membership

The second category is an INDIVIDUAL MEMBER, an individual, that must be engaged in bonsai activities in the Republic.   These members do not have a vote in the affairs of the Association.

R150.00 per individual.

Affiliate Membership

The third category is an ASSOCIATE MEMBER, which is company such as a nursery, grower, supplier or social club engaged in bonsai activities in the Republic, or activities that are closely allied or related to bonsai. These members do not have a vote in the affairs of the Association.  R350.00 per year.
